North Carolina Public Radio-WUNC is hiring an intern as a news reporter. The position is paid, and will be under the supervision of our Daily News Editor. This internship will last for a semester.
The news intern will be responsible for writing and producing audio and digital stories for our daily broadcast newscasts as well as online platforms. They will have opportunities to complete feature stories, as time allows. Students are asked to dedicate one day a week during regular business hours preferred (Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.).
The position will initially be in-person with some possibilities for hybrid/remote work. A computer will be provided. The salary is $18 per hour. The position is expected to start in January.
This position is open to currently enrolled students. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Journalism and radio experience preferred.
