Our Hour: The Term BIPOC: Is It a Gift or a Curse?

Black, Indigenous, and People of Color is an all-encompassing term for minoritized racial groups. We have heard it, seen it, and used it to describe ourselves and others, but is this terminology accepted by all under the umbrella BIPOC? Are we all comfortable with being “Voltron-ed” into one acronym? Do we share similar wants and needs/common goals? Is there a way to take advantage of this situation, using it as an opportunity to practice diversity? Is it possible to practice equity and inclusion amongst ourselves?
Our Hour continues to be a space where open and honest dialogue leads to deeper connection and stronger collaboration. Join us Thursday, August 21 at 2 p.m. Eastern / 11 a.m. Pacific for a 90-minute town hall focused on cultivating community through the exchange of ideas.
As a reminder, we always set aside time at the beginning of each town hall to share recent professional achievements, industry news, conference experiences, job openings, and available resources. Coming prepared to share your insights will serve as an introduction to our discussion topic.
